The School of Communication and Information (SC&I) at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, will hold its graduation ceremony for all of its students earning degrees in 2017. SC&I’s Convocation will take place on May 11 from 3-5 p.m. in the Louis Brown Athletic Center (RAC) on the Livingston Campus.
SC&I will award diplomas to nearly 1000 undergraduate students, 125 master’s students, and 15 Ph.D. candidates.
This year’s student speaker is Elsie Lee, a double Information Technology and Informatics (ITI) and psychology major who is graduating with honors. She was inducted into Gamma Nu Eta, the ITI Honor Society and served as president. In that role, she started a tutoring volunteer program with honors students and students who were struggling in ITI coding classes.
“I am truly honored to be SCI’s student speaker for graduation! I’m nervous, but excited for this opportunity. While preparing this speech I’ve thought about the impact that Rutgers has had on my life and I’m so thankful to have spent four years here,” commented Lee.
SC&I Convocation is held in conjunction with the University Commencement which is on Sunday May 14 at 10 a.m. in High Point Solutions Stadium.
